Key Personnel
Thomas H. DiGiorgio, Jr. serves as President and Managing Member of both the licensed architectural and general construction firms. DiGiorgio has 21 years experience in the Architectural, Construction and Development Industries specializing in hospitality design. He has designed and/or built over 600 restaurants nationally. His full commitment to providing superior service to his clients has helped make him a powerhouse in the development of commercial and residential real estate projects. He brings both a technical and practical expertise to the team. Mr. DiGiorgio, Jr., has extensive experience in Public/ Private Partnerships both professionally and philanthropically. Mr. DiGiorgio is currently the Chair of the Pompano Beach Economic Development Committee and Director of the “Research for the Cure, Cancer Foundation. Mr. DiGiorgio is well versed in the requirements and skill sets needed to make Public / Private partnerships work having collaborated in the conceptual, development, construction and marketing of various projects throughout the United States.

Edward C.A. Dougherty joined DK Architects / Planners, inc. in 1989 and has since been a viable member of both the architectural and construction teams. Mr. Dougherty is a results-oriented Licensed General Contractor and Manager with a proven record of innovative leadership, and successful problem-solving. Mr. Dougherty brings a wealth of project management experience having delivered over 2500 units both residential and commercial.
Thomas H. DiGiorgio, Sr., A.I.A., NCARB, Principal Founder of DK Architects/planners, inc. Mr. DiGiorgio, Sr. received his education at the Drexel Institute of Technology (Architecture) and employed by Philadelphia architects Mansell, McHettigan, Fugate & Rapp before becoming a full partner in the prestigious Philadelphia firm of Louis & Henry Magaziner, hence renamed Magaziner and DiGiorgio, then Magaziner, DiGiorgio & Kirkbride, A.I.A. Upon the retirement of Henry Magaziner, the firm became DiGiorgio & Kirkbride, A.I.A., and continued to do major projects for clients such as Ford Motor Company, the School Districts of Philadelphia, West Chester, Bensalem and Upper Darby, Pennsylvania.
Mr. DiGiorgio was elected as President of the Philadelphia chapter of the Construction Specification Institute. He was a consultant to the Philadelphia Redevelopment Authority (3 years), and a special consultant to the Philadelphia City Solicitor’s office as an expert witness on over 200 construction related cases. Mr. DiGiorgio currently serves as the Chairperson of the Pompano Beach Architectural Appearance Committee.
Andre Capi, Director of Architecture and Managing Partner, has been with the firm since 1989. Mr. Capi received his Masters Degree at the Tulane School of Architecture, New Orleans, LA. Mr. Capi coordinates our planning, design and design-build projects and is responsible for quality control, facilitated by his extensive knowledge of building codes, Planning and Zoning ordinances and permit processes nationwide. Mr. Capi is LEED Certified and is leading the company’s environmental and sustainable initiative.
